Amaca passed peacefully, with family by his side, at St. Boniface Hospital on April 15, 2018 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer. Benjamin was born on October 24, 1948 in Manila, Philippines. After working 10 years at Yutivo in the Philippines, he also worked in Najran, Saudi Arabia for two years before his 38 years at Greensteel / Allmar Inc. in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, Pedro and Apolonia Amaca. Benjamin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen Amaca, children: Fhem (Alex) Manansala, Racquel, Aldin and Annalyn (Joe) Camia, grandchildren: Anthony, Jordan, Jonah, Isaac, and Easton, siblings: Corazon (Herminiano) de Castro, Leonardo Amaca, Loreta Amaca, and Virginia (Elmer) Taqueban, as well as siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Viewing/Lamay will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 between 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodiere Blvd). Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at Broadway Disciples United Church (396 Broadway at Kennedy) with his church family of over 30 years. Interment and reception will follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen."
