BRIAN FINLAY It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, granda, great-granda and friend. Brian is survived by his wife Ellie, daughter Allison and partner Kevin, son Mark and partner John, and granddaughters Sarah and Sam and husband Josh; his stepchildren, Kim and Don Chroniak, Terry and Rick Fast, Blake and Connie Krahn, Lezlie Krhan and Greg Michie, stepson-in-law Hugh Berft, step-grandchildren, Stacy and Jonathan Trenchard; Jeremy and Trent Chroniak; Blane and Sharla Fast, Treana Fast and Tavis Poitras; Brett Berft; Micayla and Nadia Krahn; Jamie Michie; Jeff Michie and Stacy Boone, and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Naomi, Kya, Foster and Luxe. Brian was predeceased by his first wife Sandra Finlay, sister Audrey Mayne, sister-in-law Nellie Kerr, and stepdaughter Debbie Berft. Brian was born in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland on April 6, 1945. He first came to Canada in 1967 and moved back and forth between the two countries four times until settling in Winnipeg with his devoted wife Ellie on September 27, 2010. Brian spent the better part of his career with Canada Safeway as a Meat Manager / Front Line Leadership Facilitator. Brian exuded the spirit of love and to know him, you had no choice but to love him. Brian only had one motto in life, and that was LOVE. For when you love there is no malice. Brian always had a smile on his face and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, which attracted people to him - young, old and those in-between. He brought out the best in everyone. Like Peter Pan, he never grew old - but ended his life being the most amazing father, stepfather, granda and great-granda. Throughout his battle with cancer he was surround by the love of family and friends. He never lost his sense of humour, which diverted the attention from his illness, making us feel better. Ensuring the well-being and happiness of his family was of the upmost importance to Brian. Our sincere thanks for the love and support of family and friends and a special thank you for the compassionate care from Dr. Lecuyer, Dr. Paul, nurses, Debbie Scott and Lynda Davidson, and the amazing Palliative Care team. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission or charity of choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
