JULIE HANCHER On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Golden West Centennial Lodge, Julie Hancher passed away at the age of 88 years. The youngest of seven children of Catherine and John Hancheruk, Julie was born in the family home in Winnipeg on October 27, 1929, one month after her father's work-related death. She resided in the family home until the summer of 2011. Julie was loved and will be missed by family and friends. She is survived by sister Olga; nephew Bruce Hembroff (Louise) and their children, Catherine Hembroff (Willard Holmen), Andrew Hembroff (Caroline), Mary Ann Hembroff (Jason Bachewich); niece Marilyn Mutter (Gordon) and their children, Thomas Mutter (Raena Buksak), Robert Mutter (Denise) and Jennifer Mutter; niece Linda (David Sellar) and their children, Shane Sellar (Megan) and Mandy Sellar (Dave Martini); niece Ruth Liwiski (Ken) and 15 great-grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Alexandra, Dorothey, Anne, Nell, Elsie Barto and niece Orlene Sellar Stow. Julie was a generous and caring aunt who enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews to the Shrine Circus, ballet, symphony, theatre and football games. She was a Bomber season ticket holder for over 50 years. She travelled extensively in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Summers were spent at Clear Lake with family. Julie was a long-time employee of the Royal Bank and retired at the age of 62 years. She became a Rebekah in 1959 and was an officer and active member until her health failed. A private graveside service is planned for Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Brookside Cemetery. The family is grateful to the staff of Golden West Centennial Lodge and the Charleswood Care Centre for their care.
