KELLI LAUREEN THOMPSON (nee WARD) November 6, 1962 - June 24, 2018 It is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my beloved wife and best friend, Kelli, at our home, which she loved so much. Kelli was a true "Winnipegger" who loved her city and was always proud to say Canada was her home. She loved the Winnipeg Jets since their first inception and knew all the players past and present, just by a quick glance at their numbers. But her team of choice was the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and I swear she would "bleed Blue" if she could! She was a season ticket holder for many years and the games she did attend were always rewatched when she got home and then again in the morning on the PVR. She loved her "Blue". Kelli was born, raised and schooled in St. James and made many lifelong friends from her early years growing up especially Dana and "Cor". Kelli is survived by her loving husband Barry, mother and father, Joyce and Jim Ward, brother James Jr. and brother Bill (Anita, Parker) in Calgary. She also leaves sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews to mourn her passing. She was met at the "Rainbow Bridge" by her pride and joy, her dog Kena. Rest in peace, my dearest "Kiki". You changed our lives for the better and didn't we have fun! At Kelli's request, cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Notice of date and time to follow in a future edition. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Children's Wish Foundation of Winnipeg.
