PRISCILLA SARAH (DONEN) GUBERMAN The family of Priscilla Sarah Guberman announce her peaceful passing in the early evening of June 6, 2018 at the Women's Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her children, Maylene and Israel Ludwig, Shane and Maryanne Donen, Larry and Nancy Donen, Joel and Brenda Tessler Donen, her stepchildren, Joel Guberman and Faithe Sversky, Connie Guberman and Kapri Rabin. Her 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren all knew her as Ama and each had a special, loving bond and relationship with her. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Dale Gusman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Priscilla was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose Gusman, her two loving husbands, Norman Donen and Melvin Guberman, and her sisters, Millie Drabinsky and Marion Moglove. Our mom was a true matriarch, a woman of valour. Love of family was her highest priority. She was wise, loving, and considerate of others, values she has passed on to us all. Our Mom, our Ama will be truly missed. We want to acknowledge the staff at the Shaftesbury Residence for the excellent care and attention they gave to Mom. We also want to thank the caring staff at the Women's Centre, 5th floor, for providing comfort with dignity and family support in her final days. Mom was a strong supporter of the Jewish Foundation and if desired a donation in her name to the Women's Endowment Fund, Jewish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Aunty Prissy - so many wonderful memories of my special Aunty - from wonderful birthday parties and great fun in the backyard on Oak Street with my four cousins, to supporting and caring for my mother Nancy (her sister-in-law) in later years, and to sharing our knitting in the most recent years. And the baking! So often with my mum. Maylene and I share the wealth of their recipes. All this, and more, I hold near and dear to my heart. - Posted by: Carol Enns (Second eldest niece) on: Jul 03, 2018

  • Dear Maylene and family, we have such good memories of the times spent with your mom at 141 and the pleasure that she took in your visits and support. We keep you in our thoughts as you grieve her loss and mourn her absence in your lives. May the memories that you have made and shared with your precious mom become the treasures of your heart. - Posted by: Claudette Blanche Moquin & Harm Bouwman (Friends of Priscilla) on: Jun 30, 2018
