FRANCIS (FRANK) LEMOINE After a hard-fought battle with cancer, and family by his side, Francis Lemoine passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his parents, Dominique and Marguerite Lemoine, his two brothers, Robert and Roger, his sister-in-law Diane, and his granddaughter Miriam. Francis will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Irene, his sons, Luc (Rita) and Pierre (Cheryl), and his precious granddaughters, Emilie, Sophie and Julianne. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Dolores, his sisters-in-law, Jaqueline, Jeanine, Margo (Ron) and Loraine (Al), and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Francis was born on January 29, 1944 in Birtle, Manitoba and the family lived in the small town of St. Lazare. After the sudden death of his father when Francis was just nine years old, his family left St. Lazare and moved to Winnipeg. To help his mother support the family, Francis went to school at 15 years old to become an auto body technician. He worked in this trade for 22 years and then finished his career after 22 years at MPI as a Reinspection Estimator before retiring in 2004. During retirement Francis and Irene became winter snowbirds, vacationing in Palm Springs and New Braunfels where new friends were made and golf games were played. Dad was a relaxed, easy-going man who was content to pull up a chair and join in casual conversations. Always eager to hear how family and friends were keeping, he loved to reminisce about adventures on road and camping trips, rides on his motorcycle, card games with his tenacious mother and pranks the family would play on each other. He instilled in us the value and reward of hard work, being independent, thinking critically and the fine art of teasing. While he and Irene raised their family on five acres south of the city, Dad enjoyed his time cultivating their property, caring for the trees and being followed by his beloved canine sidekick, Riot. Always delighted to see his granddaughters, he loved making them laugh with silly songs, dances and winks. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, July 3, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. with a private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Werier, Dr. Moltzan, Dr. Sharma and the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

We met Frank and Irene while wintering in New Braunfels Tx. Our friendship grew and we looked forward to our meeting again each winter. Frank was an easy going person who enjoyed a good laugh. We are both saddened to see his passing and would like to extend our deepest condolences to Irene and all of the Lemoine Family. I have lost a truly fine friend with Frank's passing. Since meeting him after the devastating flood years ago I have considered him a good friend and he was a fellow worker at MPI. Our visits at the St Vital Mall these past years cemented that friendship and I was truly blessed to know and appreciate Frank in our many conversations. My condolences to Irene and family at this time of his passing. We will meet up again Frank for sure. - Posted by: Kevin Duckett (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2018
