MARGJE NEELJE (MARY) BRAM October 22, 1935 - July 1, 2018 It is with heavy hearts the family of Mary Bram announce her passing. She was predeceased by her parents, Jan and Matje deLeeuw, grandson Nicholas and brother-in-law Ed. She will be greatly missed by her beloved partner Albert Samakese; son Bill (Bonnie) Bram, daughter Nellie Berthelette; grandchildren, Mary, Terry, Billy, Ryan, Tyler, Bailey, Shelby, Brock, Patrick, Jody and Jared; also 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Geri Delmonte, Irene (Cor) Berndsen, Nellie (Ron) Defoort and Donna (Bill) Nuytten; and brothers, John and Ed (Dina). Mary was born in Delft, the Netherlands, the third of seven children. She was the free spirited one of the family. In her earlier years she was very active in gymnastics. As a young child during the war, she and her sisters would go searching for extra coal to heat the house. In 1952 she came to Canada with her family where her children were born. She and her children moved to Toronto for a few years, later returning to Winnipeg. It was here she would meet Albert, her soulmate for almost 40 years. Mary worked at Art's Drapery for many years. In later years she would battle breast cancer and diabetes. Although she was not able to attend her many grandchildrens' events, she was always proud of them. Rest in peace, Mom. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11 at Green Acres Funeral Chapel.
