Born: Apr 09, 1927
Date of Passing: Jul 10, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULIUS OSWALD ROEDER On July 10, 2018, Julius Roeder passed away peacefully at the age of 91. He leaves to mourn his three children, Annette (Andrew), Ingrid (Mark) and Eric (Sharon); and four grandchildren, Marcus, Katrina, Johnny and Jack. His life began in Bremen, Germany on April 9, 1927. In 1956, Julius immigrated to Vancouver with Christiane (nee Schramm, 1935 to 1995) before making a life in Winnipeg with Giselle (nee Fiting). Julius' passion for photography led to an expertise in colour photofinishing, capping his career in management at Jostens Canada. His favourite pastime of 3D modelling and animation was driven by a boundless curiosity for learning new technologies. During the 1980s, Julius produced and hosted "Deutsches Panorama", a German weekly television show. We will deeply miss our dad and opa for his sweet, generous nature and great sense of humour. We extend our sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff on the 5th floor of Poseidon Long Term Care. A private service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Please accept my sincere condolences Eric and Jack. The last few years have, I know, been very difficult for you and I suspect your father's death came as no surprise but that still leaves a gap in your life which is hard to fill except with memories. - Posted by: Trevor Cradduck () on: Jul 14, 2018

I always watched the German TV show, in fact, my son, Arno Wollenberg was once interviewed for the show by Julius, after Arno returned from Germany where he had spent the summer as the winner of the German language contest. Julius was a great asset to the promotion of the language which I love and have taught most of my life. Thank you, Julius. - Posted by: Traute Klein (Friend) on: Jul 14, 2018
