DARCY RYBUCK (née COOKE) February 7, 1964 - July 13, 2018 After a brave battle with cancer, our loving mother, sister, auntie and friend, Darcy, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Left to mourn her passing are her two sons, Jesse and Chris, brothers, Bill (Nancy) and Rick (Wanda), nephew and niece Austin and Hunter, cousins, dear friends, Patti and Lisa, as well as numerous friends and colleagues at River East Safeway where she worked for over 20 years. Darcy was predeceased by her mom Doreen and her dad Bill Sr. Darcy was born and raised in East Kildonan and graduated from Kildonan East High School. She went on to the University of Winnipeg and graduated with an arts degree. After university, she married and had two boys who meant the world to her. Darcy had a quick wit and a caring soul. Darcy often proclaimed: "Did you know that mom is wow spelled upside down?" And she lived up to that in many different ways. She will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the palliative care unit of Winnipeg. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Darcy's life will take place on Sunday, August 19 at Canad Inns Club Regent from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • To Darcy's sons, family and friends, my sincere condolences on the passing of Darcy. Our friendship evolved while I was shopping at Safeway. I would always choose Darcy's checkout so we could meet and greet with our usual chats. During one of those chats Darcy shared with me that one of her sons had similar rare experiences with milk as do I. She was always cheerful calm and made you feel like a friend no matter how her day progressed. For those of us fortunate enough to have had that special walk in life with Darcy, we are grateful to have shared such precious times. Rest in piece my friend.
