Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAUREEN HOSEGOOD (nee NEWTON) With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 86, at St. Boniface General Hospital, July 28, 2018. Her memory will be cherished by her loving children: Cheryl (Tom), Maureen, Garth (Lianne) and her grandchildren: Jesse (Chelsie), Alana (Nathan), Kaitlyn, Lea, Evan (Sam) and great-grandson Colton. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Flora Newton and her brother Aldon Newton, her husband Owen Hosegood, her second husband Harvey Beemer and daughter-in-law Karen Hosegood. Maureen married Owen in 1952 and together they enjoyed raising their three children. Together for 49 years, they enjoyed travelling to many exciting places particularly with the "dirty dozen". After Owen's passing Maureen remarried and continued travelling with Harvey for many more years. Maureen's pride and joy was being president of the "Inner Wheel Club" meeting once per month with Carol, Joan, Maxine and Lorna. One of Maureen's favourite places was her cottage at Lake Shore Heights. Spending nights watching thunderstorms across the lake. Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes there will be a private family service at a later date. Interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

My condolences to the family. I have many vivid memories of Maureen and Owen - being a member of the "Dirty Dozen". Maureen always held a special place in my heart and I loved to hear her laugh and hear her stories and her parties at the house on Victoria Crescent are so memorable. I am honoured to have called her my friend! Rest in peace beautiful lady! - Posted by: Janice Rathbone (Friend) on: Aug 04, 2018
