ELIZABETH (BETTY) REWCASTLE (nee O'KEEFE) December 16, 1923 - August 4, 2018 Elizabeth passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 4, 2018. She will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren, Cathy Johnson (Brad), Alberta and Cole, Judy Rewcastle, and Patti Rewcastle (Bodley), Tairyn, Kendra, Alex, and nephew Ric Strood of Texas. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents; husband Albert; sister Harriet Strood; brother-in-law Len; and nephew Larry. Elizabeth was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended St. Mary's Academy. After high school, she attended Manitoba Business College and gained employment at CPR Telegraphs. Much later she worked at the Graham Medical Group and finished her career with the Manitoba Provincial Government, retiring in 1985. Elizabeth married Albert in 1956 and they moved to St. Norbert to raise a family and were very active in the St. Norbert community for many years. She is now at peace and reunited with her husband Albert. A celebration in memory of Elizabeth will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thank you and appreciation for the exceptional care Elizabeth received from the staff and management of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a place of your choice.
