Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAM DYCK Abram Dyck passed away peacefully on the morning of August 15, 2018, at the age of 85. Abram was born on February 22, 1933 in Winkler, MB. Abram spent most of his 38 years of teaching and an administrative career at Winkler Elementary school. WES was his pride and joy with his goal to make everyone feel noticed. He retired in 1991 and continued to work with teacher training assessments for the University of Manitoba. Prior to moving to Winnipeg in 1998, Abram and Jean lived in Winkler, except for a three year Mennonite Central Committee mission experience in Brazil from 1969 through 1972 with their three children. Abram had always felt that he wanted to serve God in some kind of international experience and so he and Jean followed this call in their lives. Abram will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Jean; his daughter Lynnette (Eldon) and their children, Ryan (Jennifer and great-grandchild, Emma Marie); Paul (Courtney); his son Gerry (Dawne) and their children Tara (Tim and great-grandchildren, Analeigh, Sidonie, Charlotte, and Ethne); Rae-Lyn (Kellen and great-grandchild Jaxon); his son Darrel and his wife Joanne. A celebration of Abram's life will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Rock, 1397 Buffalo Place, in Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9, in memory of Abram Dyck. Sorry to hear of the death of Abe. He has gone for his reward. I would have loved being at the funeral but just having an health issue myself at present. Hope you are keeping well. Are you still walking with your arm crutches? I have moved to Homestead South. An assisted living place in Morden. Where are you? It would be nice to have a good visit again. My love to you. Mr. Dyck was my school principal all my elementary school life, he was so awesome, and he DEFINITELY lived up to his goal of making everyone feel special. Jean, I am so sorry for your loss, my prayers have been and are with you. My sister Debbie, taught her first years at WES. She absolutely delighted working with Abe, at Debbie’s funeral, Abe and Jean attended, that meant so much.. Jean had copy of photo from Abe’s retirement for me and other family. It showed the silly gift, which I can’t recall now, but it spoke to the relationship and respect teachers had for him and vice versa. My sympathies to all and we rest assuredly that he is with his saviour. God bless you Jean, I hope you see this. Love and prayers, Jayne - Posted by: Jayne L ( daughter of Lewie and Nora, sister of Debbie Hopkins) (Pupil) on: Aug 19, 2018
