Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFERNAND DESAUTELS December 6, 1938 - September 8, 2018 Peacefully, Fern passed away at Riverview Health Centre with his family at his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rose; daughter Jacquie (Steve) Cavanagh, Claire and Caroline; and daughter Jo-Anne (Tom) Beimers; Cory and Cole Hummel, Oliver and Charlotte Beimers. He'll also be remembered by his brother Paul (Win); sister-in-law Bonnie and brother-in-law Leo. Fern will be greatly missed by his extended family, Mark (Michelle), Adam, Jonah, Noah and Judah Danko and Karen and Idelle Talbot. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, his many great friends and his former wife Diana (Bruce) Clark. Fern was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Leandre Desautels. His brothers, Thomas, George, Rene, Albert, Edmond and Philippe. Also his sisters, Laura, Alda, Mary-Anne and Laurette. Fern loved spending time with friends and family. He cherished the time he spent with his coffee buddies, bowling and acting as an unofficial ambassador to Winnipeg. He loved watching and cheering on the Winnipeg Jets, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Fern always enjoyed a good laugh and loved both telling and listening to jokes. He was often heard saying....wait, just one more. He will be lovingly missed by all who knew him. A special thank you to all who helped care for and visited with Fern and to all at River View for the compassionate care. Flowers gratefully declined. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerry Sembrano officiating. Always loved and in our hearts.
