Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN ALEXANDER September 11, 1936 - September 15, 2018 It was the perfect way to move along from this life. At home on a Saturday afternoon, Mum listened to music with friends, then closed her eyes and went to sleep. Ann turned 82 on September 11. Mum always loved to celebrate her birthday, and those who loved her responded! Once again, she was spoiled with cards, treats and visits with friends and family. It was a very good birthday celebration. Mum's home was Bethania. She loved spending time outdoors there. The garden area was her favourite place. She enjoyed watching the fish, tending her flowers, picnicking and listening to classic stories from her childhood. Some of her most treasured times were watching her great-grandchildren play. Grandma Ann and the kids made everlasting memories together. Ann had a long, full life filled with love, generosity and kindness. She has made a permanent impression on many, many hearts. We will miss our beautiful grandma, auntie, friend - our mum. You are invited to join us at Bethania in the chapel area (1045 Concordia Avenue) on Wednesday, September 26 at 1:30 p.m. to remember and celebrate a life well lived. Those who wish are invited to make a donation to the Bethania Well Project.

My son, Russell and I are so glad and grateful we had a chance to visit with Ann in August. She took us on a tour of the garden at Bethania and we were able to show her pictures from our visit to the Nurse's Archive including a picture of her graduation picture. I was a lovely visit. I have many nice memories of times with her. She took my daughter and I on a tour of Bird's Hill when we were in Winnipeg to bury mom's ashes in 2005. It was a lovely day with lunch and Ann telling about the park history. We've talked more than once about family history and I was happy to help her find out more about her dad's family. She was most proud of being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and marveled at being an only child and having such a large wonderful family. I will miss her. - Posted by: Catherine Van Cleave (cousin) on: Sep 22, 2018
