MURRAY ALBERT GRASS Murray Albert Grass passed away on September 20, 2018, at Oakview Place (Extendicare), at the age of 86. He was born on September 1, 1932 in St. John, NB and lived in Halifax, NS from 1937 to 1947. He returned to Rothesay, NB, later graduating from Rothesay Regional High School. He attended two years of Teacher Training at New Brunswick Technical in Moncton, NB. Murray then moved to Perth, NB for his first four years teaching. In 1959, he moved with his wife and baby to Winnipeg, MB teaching in several high schools around St. James Assiniboia. Meanwhile, he also taught High School Driver's Education at John Taylor Collegiate and Sturgeon Heights for 17 years in the 1960s and 1970s. Murray earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Education from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois in 1971. Murray loved farming - he spent 30 years farming in the Lundar, MB area. He became a Pedigreed seed grower. Murray was predeceased by his parents Murray Sr. and Ida Mae (White) Grass, brothers, Gerald, Dale, and sister Melda. He survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor; children, Bradford (Sylvia), Kevin (Bette), Stephen (Dawn) and Douglas (Julie); grandchildren, Kyle, Joel, Ashley, Colby, Scott and Sean; great-grandchildren, Pierce, Gaige, Levi, Alyssa, Keira, Aiden, and brother Eric (Pat) of Petawawa, ON. Memorial service will be held at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
