DARYL RANDALL GRATTON Daryl passed peacefully on the morning of September 20, 2018 at home with his wife Jane, son Stephen and daughter Rebecca at his side. Daryl is predeceased by his mom Ruby, father Lou, father-in-law Barry, brother Bobby and niece Chantel. He is survived by brothers, Glen (Paulette), Doug (Christine) and Darrin (Carol), sisters, Linda (Chris) and Shirl (Leo), mother-in-law Val, brothers-in-law, Mike (Lori) and Chris (Siobhan) in addition to many, many, nieces and nephews. Daryl's battle with cancer was a large part of the last eight years of his 57 years with us, however, he never let it hold him back or hold him down. He fought right to the bittersweet end and did it while keeping us laughing the whole time. His sense of humour, sometimes sick, and storytelling were enough to ingrain his memory into everyone he met. In the 32 years he worked with CP Railway, he complained about it endlessly, but he was always proud to be a Teamster and loved his railway buddies like family. Between work, family and friends he always found time for his second home as a member at St. Boniface Golf Course and his other, other family there. Our home and our lives may feel a little more empty but our hearts are forever full with the countless laughs and good memories. His last days here he spent surrounded by family and friends listening to his favourite tunes, the only thing that would have made that better for him is if he were on the golf course. We hope where you are now you've set up shop at the beer cart and you're getting ready to tee up at the world's best courses. We love you so much and we miss you, even if you were sometimes a pain in the butt. Take care of your kitties wherever you are, bang a drum or two and cause a ruckus --- until we meet again, Punk, Schpee, Sweeper, Camel, Rapping Dad, Daddio, you were one of a kind. A special thank you goes out to the palliative care team, Daryl appreciated you so much and you helped make things just a little more bearable. Specifically, Kelly, you were so amazing to us and to Daryl, we will never forget you. In lieu of sending flowers, please direct any donations to the Never Alone Foundation on behalf of Daryl Gratton. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Boniface Golf Course.
