DAVID RONALD BIRCHARD It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Ronald Birchard on September 22, 2018. David was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Nora, along with his sister Patricia, and brother Alan. He is survived by his brother Peter, of Toronto, his wife Mellie, of Kelowna, and many nieces and nephews. David was a lifelong bachelor who found love late in his life with Mellie. Although their time together was short, David and Mellie had a loving and full marriage. David was a strong advocate for the law and had a successful law career in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He was passionate in the court room, with innovative arguments that many opposing counsel did not see coming. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the staff on 4 East, Kelowna General Hospital, for their care of David over the past month. As per his wishes, David will be interred in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg at a later date.
