ZENAIDA OQUIALDA SAMSON (nee OLOYA) Zenaida Oquialda Samson (nee Oloya) passed away on September 27, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB, surrounded by her immediate family and loved ones. She was 76. Zenaida was born on November 12, 1941 in the Philippines to her parents, Elias and Antonina Oloya. After completing a dressmaking program at Rodriguez Vocational School she worked in a dressmaking shop, and then later for Philippine American Embroidery. The tremendous show of love and support from all of our extended family and friends has been truly heartwarming, and we're blessed for their help in this extremely difficult time. She is survived by her husband Ben and son Alan; her daughter Laarni (Charles); her sisters, Blendina, Delia, Marcella and Elsa; her brother Jaime; and nephew Matthew (Marielle and Mateus). She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Antonina, and her siblings, Eleanor, Federico and Jose. Zenaida's life will be celebrated with a Lamay on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and a service on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. in Winnipeg, MB.
