TARAS HRABINSKI 1934 - 2018 With great sadness, we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father, and grandpa, Taras (Terry) Hrabinski, on September 21, 2018. Aside from being a devoted husband and dedicated family man, Dad was a good friend and father-figure to many. His sense of humour, his gentle way of teaching and his kind and humble nature drew people to him. He loved all animals, he could fix anything and everything, was a hardworking truck driver, told wonderful stories, cheered for the Bombers and the Jets, skated until he was 80, yodelled a bit, camped a lot, caught plenty of fish, road-tripped through Canada and the States, and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Dad was our passionate cheerleader, our mentor, and our inspiration. Dad leaves behind his wife Hedy, of 59 years, son Sheldon (Lorelei), daughters, Darcy and Celina (Duane), grandkids, Brandin, Taylor and Jordyn, brothers, Nestor (Barb), Adam (Judy) and Harry (Judy), sister-in-law Selma (Arnold), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his daughter Loreen, brother Donald (Myrna), and parents, Carrie and Peter. Memories of Dad's strength of character, his courage, his wisdom, his exceptional kindness and most of all, his deep love of family will comfort and sustain us. Thanks to CancerCare Manitoba for the excellent care and respect provided to Dad over the last few years. The family also extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate MAID teams that ensured Dad left this life with dignity and on his own terms with loved ones by his side. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • I have many fond memories of all of you camping at the lake and Uncle Terry sitting in his lawn chair in the shade. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Karen Colson (extended family) on: Oct 07, 2018
