JOHN HAROLD BAGACKI February 7, 1934 - October 13, 2018 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of John Harold Bagacki on October 13, 2018. Although John had been struggling with cancer, he passed peacefully following a stroke. John was predeceased by his parents, George and Catherine, his sister Lillian Boyce, and his brother-in-law Bill Moen. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Lynda (nee Bradford); his children: John (Nicola), Rory and Sarah; Shaun (Teresa), Craig and Jennifer; Gael (Roy), Shane and Kayla; Sue; Guy (Michelle), Tanner and Tyler; Rachel (Drew) Bailey; Brad (Erin), Olive, Makeiff and Kodiak, as well as seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sister Violet Moen, brother Robert (Elaine), sister Jan (Brian) Avis; his in-laws, Karen and Fred Moroz, Lola and Al Hymers and Lila Bradford, and several nieces and nephews. John was born February 7, 1934 in Selkirk, Manitoba and raised in Fort Frances, Ontario, returning to Manitoba in the early 1970s. He grew to be a model of honesty, sensitivity, kindness, generosity and modesty. His entire career was spent in the field of education. He touched many lives as a teacher and principal in Fort Frances and went on to become Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent and Director of Education. He particularly enjoyed the last 10 years prior to retirement, assisting Cross Lake, Manitoba in setting up their own education system. He loved travelling and we managed to visit every province and territory in Canada, 32 states and 27 countries on five continents. John also spent many years volunteering with the elderly. We loved him so much, and we hope to hold the message of his life forever in our hearts and minds. As John requested, there will be no funeral, but a Celebration of Life will be held on October 27 in the Common Room at 1044 Wilkes Ave. Drop in between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to have a drink in his honour.
