Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My wife and I owned companies and coincidentally, Rick looked after both. I enjoyed working with Rick as he became way more than just my accountant. He got me involved with his work with Ducks Unlimited where I enjoyed attending the dinners with him, sharing many a laugh. He became the person I could count on for advice when my partnership was on the rocks and always had time to take my call and I will truly miss his infectious laugh. Laura and I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the family, Rest in peace Rick, I will think of you often Kerry - Posted by: kerry johnson (client/friend) on: Nov 01, 2018

  • I was shocked to hear that Rick passed away. Although we knew each other for a short time I found him to be a very welcoming and engaging person with a happy go lucky attitude. Rick could always make me smile whether it was cracking a joke, working the gate at our son’s hockey games, making sure I was ok when my wife passed away or sending flowers when I was in the hospital. I am truly grateful for the friendship we had. I’ll miss his smile and laugh. Rick will be missed. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Malcolm Harvey (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2018

  • I shared many memories with Rick going through the CA program. Always a character with an engaging personality and a charming wit that kept you laughing, especially when he laughed at his own jokes. Our families grew up in the same area, where my daughters got to know Rick's children. Rick was a great community guy, always willing to help out. You will be missed Rick, but not forgotten. Our condolances to the family. - Posted by: Don McLennan (Friend ) on: Oct 24, 2018

  • Rick was the consummate professional whom cared about his accounting profession both in standards and educational opportunities for students. He was a credit to his community, his profession. Very sorry to learn of his passing. Wynne Powell,FCPA,FCGA - Posted by: G. Wynne Powell, FCPA, FCGA (CPA Western School of Business - I was also a member of the board ) on: Oct 24, 2018

  • The DUKE is no more. Wow. Through the line of work he chose and the personality he had, Rick came in contact with a lot of people and left a lot of memories. I have no doubt that as all of these people are finding out about the news of his passing, their memories of him are playing in their head. You were good to me Rick and I thank you for it. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Navdeep Khosa (Co-worker) on: Oct 24, 2018

  • So sorry to hear of Rick's passing, way too soon! I remember him fondly from BU days, waiting tables together. I looked forward to the shifts with Rick; he was so funny with his Ed Grimly imitation, "I must say!" He helped me move with his van, (shag-rug interior) and in general, was a kind and supportive friend. My thoughts are with Rick's family. Joy Auria - Posted by: Joy Auriat (Friend) on: Oct 21, 2018
