I am writing on behalf of my mother, Boyoung Kim. As a little girl, my mom met her uncle 성환 every year or two, when he visits his Korean family in Busan. She remembers him as an uncle with a very unique sense of humor of his own, and who loved to take pictures to bring back to his home in Canada. Also my grandfather, 김 규섭 mourned after hearing his older cousin 성환's obituary and says he remembers his childhood memories with him. My family also immigrated to Langley, BC in 2021, and mom says she wishes she met him before her uncle's passing and shows deepest grief. Although it has been years after his passing, my mom and my family will keep your family in our prayers. - Posted by: Boyoung Kim (Relative) on: Nov 17, 2024

I was very privileged to meet great Uncle Kim in Vancouver with my husband and sons. He was happy to meet my partner Dr Kim, and we spent pleasant hours talking together. I was looking for an obituary to send my condolences after hearing about Dr S.H. Kim’s passing. We were sad to hear the news and finally found his obituary. Our thoughts still turn to him. - Posted by: Lily Kim (Relative) on: Oct 24, 2022

Dr. Kim was the epitome of a gentleman and a scholar. He treated all of our Cardiology Technologists with respect and engaged us with sharing knowledge anytime we had questions or patient concerns. His sense of humor, along with his skill and compassion will be remembered and missed. - Posted by: Linda McLean (Worked with him at SBH) on: Nov 05, 2018

Dr. Kim saved my mother's life by performing cardiac valve replacement surgery over 40 years ago at St. Boniface Hospital. She lived an additional happy and mainly healthy 34 years for which we are so grateful. Not only did he provide excellent care to my mother, he extended his compassion to our entire family during that difficult time. He also explained the risks of smoking to me in a scientific and non-judgmental manner, which I in turn used throughout my career to encourage others to become ex-smokers. Thank you Dr. Kim and God Bless! - Posted by: Patricia Simcoe-Rosenbaum (client's family) on: Nov 02, 2018
