EDWARD DONALDSON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Edward Donaldson, aged 87 years, on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Eddy (aka Slim) is survived by his wife, Ann, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Eddy was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and his son Leonard. Eddy was born and raised in Jamaica. He and Ann moved to England where they married, resided for several years, and had three children before coming to Winnipeg. A welder by trade, Eddy worked on various projects in the Manitoba area. Eddy was a great domino player and won several tournaments. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 14, 2018, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, preceded by a viewing at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Mr. Donaldson would shop at the grocery store I worked at. He always had a smile on his face, I would ask “how are you” and his reply was “not as good as you are” Although our conversations were always short, he would talk about his wife, kids, and how “Jamaica was warmer than Winnipeg, but Winnipeg was home” Mr. Donaldson May you rest peacefully.
