Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUBREY JAMES HELLOFS March 21, 1934 - October 18, 2018 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Aubrey Hellofs on October 18, 2018 in Culver City, CA, after a lengthy illness. He is being mourned by his loving wife Marianne, of 38 years, and his three children: Greg (Barb) Hellofs of Winnipeg, MB, Darrell (Judy) Hellofs of Westchester, CA, and Rikki of Culver City, CA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aubrey was predeceased by his parents, Hilbert and Catherine (Nana), and siblings: Eileen, Norval, Vern, Dorothy Kuhnau, Vera Swanlund and Cecil. Aubrey was born March 21, 1934 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He moved at a young age to Winnipeg, Manitoba until making his move south to Los Angeles in 1959, where he lived in Culver City the rest of his life. Aubrey was very passionate about sports but mainly auto racing, golf, hockey and speed skating. He raced anything that went fast in his early years, golfed religiously until the last few years, and was a die hard L.A. Kings fan. He was very involved in the early days of the Kings and getting their practice facilities moved to the Culver City Ice Rink, where he was the General Manager. He made many friendships in the NHL during those times and was great friends with many of the Kings' players, staff and management. Aubrey did not go down without a fight and was still asking about friends until his last days. Cremation has taken place and per his request there will not be a formal service. He has requested a Celebration Of Life, which will be on November 25, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at his home. We would love to welcome his many friends to a fun-filled afternoon. "HE HAD A GREAT RIDE"
