DENISE GEORGIA HOLMES
Date of Passing: Nov 09, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENISE GEORGIA HOLMES (née ROBINSON) It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend on November 9, 2018, at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 71. Denise was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Georgia (née Smith) Robinson, and first husband Steve Ewasko. Denise was born in Brandon and raised in Rapid City, MB. She lived in the Brandon and Rapid City areas, and in Waskada for a short time with her first husband Steve, until his passing. Returning to Brandon, she met Robert Holmes and they married in 1973, settled in Winnipeg in January 1975, just prior to the birth of their only child, and remained in the same home until her passing. Denise's caring heart was known to all who knew her, through her everyday words and actions, as well as countless hours over the years spent volunteering at her daughter's schools, and at the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts, both during and after the time her mother lived there. She is missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Robert Holmes of Winnipeg, daughter Robyn (Fraser) Gordon and grandchildren, Sara and Evan Gordon of Ottawa. Cremation has taken place, with interment at a later date. In lieu of a funeral service, family and friends are invited to gather at the family's home on Saturday, November 24 between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. to remember and celebrate her life. Donations to the Grace Hospital Foundation Tree of Life Campaign are requested in lieu of flowers.
