KATHERINE LOUISE REGIER (JANZEN) Katherine Louise Regier, aged 77, died November 14, 2018, at her home in Haven, Kansas. She was born June 27, 1941, in Winkler, Manitoba, the daughter of Jacob and Eva Janzen. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters in Education. She was a teacher in Winnipeg at Princess Margaret, Chief Peguis, and Edmund Partridge schools, and later worked as a librarian for the city of Haven. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, Kansas, where she was involved in choir and was a deacon. Katherine married Paul Regier on July 1, 1979 in Altona, Manitoba. He survives. Other survivors include a son, James (Allison) Regier, St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Amanda (Michael) Waltner, Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Fred Janzen, London, Ontario, and Jake (Judi) Janzen, Brandon, Manitoba; a sister Justina (John) Wiens, La Salle, Manitoba; and five grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at the First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
