Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIEGFRIED JAKISCH It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, Sig Jakisch, on November 19, 2018. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Kay; his sister Gisela; his children, Michele (Ron), Trevor (Kathy) and grandsons Garrett, Ryan, Dylan, and Kevin. Also, close relatives, Ilene and Lou Getz, Ron Nilsen, Margot Jakisch, many nieces and nephews, cherished friends and special neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents, Margarete and Franz Josef, brother Heinz, brother-in-law David, and other close relatives and friends. Dad was born on May 18, 1934 in Breslau Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company until he retired. Dad was a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather. Family came first with Dad. Together with Mom, they worked and saved to enjoy many family trips and to build a family cottage on Pinawa Bay, a family home and retirement homes in Winnipeg Beach and Charleswood. As a young boy, dad was energetic, competitive and had a passion for sports. It was not uncommon for Dad, at any age, to lead the way with a big grin on his face. Dad loved cheering on his children and grandchildren in their sporting activities, along with our Bombers and Jets. He was an avid outdoorsman with passions for fishing, hunting, camping, water sports, cross country skiing and cycling. Their cycling group resulted in memorable trips and an opportunity to gain new and lasting friendships. In keeping with Dad's wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to a charity of one's choice.
