GERHARD WIEBE 1947 - 2018 Gerhard's shining light has returned to the universe to become stardust. He was born at sea and left this earthly life as a chimera. He was an opa, a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and a friend. He was a refugee and a newcomer. He was a teacher, an artist, a builder, a designer, an athlete and an actor. He loved sunrises and sunsets, the dappled light on water, the wind in the trees, the call of the loon under a glimmering moon, the mirror of a morning lake, the sun dogs in the bright blue sky on a cold crisp winter morning. He created gingerbread adventures, curving brick pathways, wonderful morning fires, fragrant and intriguing gardens and a home with Lois, Jonathan and Jennifer, Anna, Dan and Libby. Relatives and close friends are invited to remember with us our love for Gerhard at 84 Agassiz Drive, Tuesday, November 27, Wednesday, November 28 and Thursday, November 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We want to talk about Gerhard's life, share memories, tell stories, laugh and cry together. In order not to have too much food or too many flowers please text Anna at 204-297-0100 if you are thinking of bringing anything. There will be a memorial service at a later date, information to follow.

Truly a man who brought joy to the lives of those who love him. Christmas won't be the same without his gingerbread houses. https://humanrights.ca/blog/amazing-gingerbread-museum-lights-family-christmas - Posted by: Kyla Wiebe (family) on: Nov 28, 2018

I had the pleasure of appearing with Gerhard in many Winnipeg Mennonite Theatre productions over the years. It was an inspiration to see him in action and to watch his passion unfold on the stage. My heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Monica Reis (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2018
