With a tearful heart, I give my condolences to the Weiss family, I had no idea. He used to come with Willie and Charlie to our home here in BC. George had energy for all the kids and would play with them up the back side of a large hill just out back of my place. He would pretend to be a bear. The kids would run with gleeful screams. I remember Willie coming into the house excited to ask me for for bat food! I asked what do for bats eat? Willie said apples so I cut up apples and gave them to all the kids to play along. Willie, Charlie, Terry, our late daughter Crystal and Ian. Some of our neighbourhood kids joined in on the fun. We will miss you George. With fond memories. Fran Rodger and family. - Posted by: Fran Letkeman (Friend ) on: Jun 01, 2019

Georg was a beloved friend to all our family, and those friends who vacationed with us at Moose Lake quickly grew to know and also love his spirit. Georg was a gifted musician with endless music instruments, be it guitar, spoons, eggs, harmonica or keyboard. Probably this list could go on longer. He could play along with the worst of us singers, quickly switching keys to suit our poor voices. Such good times with a good friend around any campfire. The way we will most remember him is in his kayak, paddling along the lake, with music from his music playing Dylan, Cohen, Zeppelin or Steppenwolf. He taught so many of us to enjoy kayaking, always with our safety in mind. We were his "Sea Hags" to his "Captain Bligh", a name he rightly earned! We will miss him so. His spirit of honesty to himself and his life was a trait to be admired. We were so lucky to call him a friend. - Posted by: Joan and Eric Sawyer (Friend) on: Dec 11, 2018

We will always remember Georg fondly. He called a spade a spade, had a clever wit and a big smile. Loved the campfire visits and singalongs. Sincerest condolences Karen and the Weisses. RIP Georg! - Posted by: Karen Taraska-Alcock (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2018

While I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Georg, I had heard wonderful things from my mom about him. A great sense of humor, kind heart, and a ready smile are some of the best qualities a person can have. In reading the previous comments it sounds like everyone agreed, Georg was a wonderful man. I can attest to the wonderful woman he was married to! Hugs and love to you Karen. My sympathies to you all for your loss. - Posted by: Jill Scruggs (Cousin to wife, Karen) on: Dec 02, 2018

Thinking about Georg always brings a smile to our faces - fond memories from Moose Lake - from his "music in the mist" (kayaking in the fog with music playing from his cassette player) to beers at the dock, to many musical and fun activities. Georg always had a ready smile and a kind heart. Think we'll just go play some music and reminisce. - Posted by: Henry & Janet Scholz (friends) on: Nov 30, 2018

We all enjoyed having Georg play with us on Wednesday evenings. He had a great sense of humour and his skill with the harmonica brought many a beautiful note to tunes we played together. I could tell that he loved making music, and his interest in many instruments made him all the more fun to hear. - Posted by: Gayle Halliwell (Musician friend) on: Nov 30, 2018
