BERT SHUCKETT Our beautiful mother Bert Shuckett passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Bert was predeceased by her husband Dave Shuckett; her parents, Celia and David Brandes; her brother Morris Brandes; her sister Vera Cramer; her granddaughter-in-law Celeste Waldman; and her special friend Harry Chernick. She is survived by her children, Linda Waldman and Richard Shuckett; her grandchildren, Jeff Waldman, Danny and Kristi Waldman, Joe Waldman and Amy Bondar; her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren, Samantha, Noah, Matthew, Elisabeth, Anna, Lily and Sauly; and sisters-in-law, Fritzi Telpner and Sally Shuckett. Bert was born in Brandon on February 4, 1918. She moved to Winnipeg with her family when she was 15 years old. She worked at The Bay in the hardware department and that was where she met our dad, Dave. They were married for 54 and one-half years. Bert loved to travel, play bridge and work out. She worked out at the Rady Centre five mornings a week until she was 90 years old. Bert lived her 100 plus years with style and grace, always with a smile. We will miss her. Funeral was held at Congregation Etz Chayim on Wednesday, December 5, officiated by Rabbi Kliel Rose and Cantor Tracy Kasner Greaves. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jeff, Danny, and Joe Waldman and her great-grandsons, Joshua, Noah and Matthew Waldman.
