In their retirement, Viola and Steve loved to travel and spend time with the family that was so important to them. Viola was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Winnipeg and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary there. Viola also was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of Patricia Chapter, Worthy Grand Matron for Manitoba, and held many other offices in the Order throughout the years. Eastern Star and her many loving friends there were very important to her. In lieu of flowers please donate to Victoria General Hospital (Winnipeg) in Viola's name. A service to celebrate Viola's life will be scheduled at a later date in Winnipeg.

Viola was my husband Franklin’s cousin. She was very kind and generous of nature. A true lady in every sense. We always enjoyed our visits with her and Steve on family occasions. My condolences on your loss. Florence Halderson Wiseman - Posted by: Florence Wiseman (Friend ) on: Dec 28, 2018

I am so sorry to hear of Viola's passing. She was in the same bridge club as my Mom, Marion. She had an amazing laugh. I went to all the showers that were put on by the Bridge Club including ones at her home in Fort Garry. I last saw her when she and my Mom and I went for lunch before she moved to BC. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Again so very sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Carolyn McFerran (Friend) on: Dec 22, 2018
