DON YUEL On Friday, May 11, 2018, Donald Yuel left this world as his heart stopped, probably out of sheer happiness. His beloved Winnipeg Jets had defeated the Nashville Predators 5-1 to win the Central Conference Championship the night before. Don will be missed by all who knew him. He was a loyal and faithful friend and family member. Experiences and relationships were more important than material items for Don. He liked nothing better than laughing with people he loved until his sides hurt. Don had a tremendous career at Great-West Life. He held a variety of positions, most recently in the individual life and disability department, where he ran the show. His extensive knowledge, hard work and leadership made him a valuable employee. His interests outside of work included the Jets and Bombers, fishing, listening to jazz, travel and auto racing. He liked to talk and get to know anyone he came across. His interest in everyone he met made him unique. Work and hobbies, however, were ultimately only useful to Don for one reason - they led to friendships. Don had friends all over Canada and in Mexico. He had a way of bringing people close to him. As he once said to his good friend, Julio, "Life is like a revolving door; people will come and go, a few will stay. Take care of those." Thanks for taking care of those who stayed, Don. You were an unforgettable character. Rest in peace, good friend. A memorial service and cremation has taken place. Don's resting place is at Thomson In the Park.
