DANIEL FERDINAND KOPESCHNY It is with great sadness that the Kopeschny family announces the sudden passing of Daniel Kopeschny on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the age of 54. Dan is survived by his parents, Ferdinand and Lorraine Kopeschny, sisters, Donna Honke (Darrin) and Susan Ciastko (Craig), five nieces and two great-nephews. Dan was predeceased by his daughter Roseanne Shortt. Dan will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his close friend Christine Souchamvalis, aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends. Dan was born, raised and lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a Power Electrician by trade and worked for Manitoba Hydro for 27 years. Dan was an avid collector with an eclectic love of music. He enjoyed time with family and friends and was an animated and impassioned storyteller. God called home an amazing man, and left us with beautiful memories to comfort us. Forever you will live in our hearts. Always remembered, never forgotten. We love you Danny! In keeping with Dan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Albright Church, 3400 DeVries Ave. (access off Maxwell King Drive), on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at which time the family invite you to share a favourite memory during a brief open mic period. As Dan was an avid sports fan we invite you to wear your favourite jersey. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared at http://www.friendsfs.ca/

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • My Deepest Condolences to the Kopeschney Family. I was a childhood friend to Donna when we were children. I remember Danny as full of spirit and laughter. He liked to bug me and Donna when I came over to visit. I saw Dan at a hydro meeting a few years back. We worked in different departments so I didn't work with him or get to see him. It was a very nice surprise to bump into him after so many years. We had a really nice conversation. At the end I said my goodbye, gave him a hug and asked him to tell Donna I said hi. Today I found out about his passing. I'm shocked and saddened for all of you, especially Donna, his twin sister. I'm sorry I missed his remembrance service. My Prayers and Hugs to all of you.
