JEAN FRANCES MARCH December 5, 1931 - December 20, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce, peacefully, with family by her side, Jean Frances March passed away at the Simkin Centre in Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband Michael Henry March, her son Len (Cathy), daughter Angie Libbrecht (Greg), grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick), Chelsea, Adair and Nolan, great-grandchildren, Christian, Anthony, Wyatt and Chloe. Jean was born on December 5, 1931 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She worked with the blind in Sydney until she moved to Winnipeg, to marry the love of her life, in September, 1956. Jean took a job at the Medical Arts building to continue with her love of people. In 1962, Jean and Michael bought their house in Windsor Park on Maywood Road. With her love of children, they adopted Len in March of 1964 and Angie in August of 1966. Besides being mother to her two children, she loved and cared for all the kids and neighbours on Maywood Road. Jean went back to work again in 1978 at the Bridal Registry at the Bay downtown. She stayed with the Bay for 10 years. With the birth of her first granddaughter, Jean started sharing her love in a whole new way and could never get enough time to spend with grandchildren and in the last eight years, her great-grandchildren. Jean was active for over 50 years in the Catholic Women's League and also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She would help out with as many activities at St. Bernadette Catholic Church as she could attend. The family wishes to thank the Simkin Centre for all their care of Jean during her time there. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations on behalf of Jean can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. • Dear, dear Jean, was such a joyful, person who always made you feel that you were the most important person she knew. I met Jean through my sister Pearl and my mother Anne Wong working at crafts for St. Bernadette Church. There I made a lifelong friend who always greeted me each time we met making me feel so very special. She was kind and thoughtful and I am very happy to have known her. As I now work along side with her granddaughter Jennifer, I can see a lot of of Jean's kindness in her. Working with her I would hear of her struggles to maintain health and was devastated to hear of her passing before I could see her once more but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. As I will always remember her hugs, laughter and beaming smile. There is another angel in heaven. You will be missed.
