I called him Morris as I’d never seen his name spelt. It didn’t matter to him. We were friends once the snow cleared and it was spring. Steve and I always enjoyed his company, his many stories about businesses he was in, how he worked his way into ‘money’ from nothing. He spoke often of how he missed his wife soo much. A true man of pride and dignity.. sitting outside summer evening. Always an invite for a beer and good conversation. Every morning for years he was up and gone ‘to the business’. As Morris grew older Steve would visit him every 2nd day in the afternoon. That went on for a few years but as he grew more ill Steve stopped visiting as he could see it was tough for him to carry on a conversation. I to missed his phone calls asking where Steve was, “tell him to come over I’m up now”. Awh such a sweet man.
