This morning the strangest thing happened. I was crying last night missing my husband so much and not quite believing he was gone and that I’d never see him again in this life. For two days and two nights now, I have asked him “to wait for me” and be the one to come for me when my time has arrived. I asked for a sign to know that he had heard me and that he was in the good place he deserved so much. I told him how sorry I was that I didn't tell him that I loved him more often than I did. Then, this morning as I am getting ready for work I had the radio on which is odd because I never listen to the radio. Then just as I walked into the kitchen almost ready to leave and brave the cold, Mumford and Son’s came on playing “I will wait for you”. I truly believe this was no coincidence and I had received my sign. Gerry is in heaven. - Posted by: Karen (Spouse) on: Jan 21, 2019

I grew up with Gerry next door for most of my childhood. He was also so kind, and I’ll always remember his laugh! I will never forget that he had the most incredible movie collection in his basement - walls and walls of VHS! And some days they would tell me to go downstairs and pick out whichever movie I wanted to watch. That was always so special for me as a little kid! I’m grateful I got to grow up beside him for so many years. My love to all of his family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Love, Annie - Posted by: Andrea (Family friend and neighbour ) on: Jan 16, 2019

Karen , Marshall, Shannon, Sabrina, Travis, Ellaina, Everly, There are no words to express my great sadness for your loss. Gerry , has held and always will hold a very special place in my heart and soul. He was a gift to all of us that had the honor of sharing time with him. Our friendship took on many roles in life , and taught me that we are all brothers and sisters in this world , and we should help each other whenever we can , however we can. He was my guide at difficult times in my younger life and help me understand that we must believe in ourselves and the gifts that we were given. Gerry, my heart skipped a beat when I heard your body left us , but your spirit touched mine a very long time ago , and I will always be Thankful and forever grateful for our friendship. I know your sweet Mama Gibby already has her loving arms around you , and is welcoming you home.. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS......... Gaètanne , Brian , Breanne , Adrienne. Karen, Courtney and all the Unger Family: We are deeply saddened with the sudden passing of Gerry. We met him only a few times but the visits we shared in Winnipeg and Surrey were most fondly memorable and treasured. We knew that Gerry had a heart of gold and was a very good man all around. May God Bless him and you Karen, Courtney and the Unger family. We hope to be in contact with you Karen very soon. I was very sad to hear of the passing of my cousin Gerald. My prayers and condolences to his wife Karen and his children Marshall and Sabrina. He was a great guy and I will always cherish the memories of him when we spent time together when we were younger. He was always so kind and patient with me when I was a kid and he taught me to appreciate music and how it can make you feel better no matter what is going on in you life. Rest peacefully knowing that you touched so many lives with your kindness. Your cousin Deb Lundy (Perry) - Posted by: Debra Lundy (Cousin) on: Jan 12, 2019
