Date of Passing: Jan 04, 2019
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID GORDON WADDINGTON May 22, 1953 January 4, 2019 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of David, after a lengthy stay in the hospital. Brother, uncle and friend, his loss will leave a huge hole in our lives; we are grateful for the memories of time spent together. David was a fisher and hunter and spent countless hours tinkering with the many cars he owned over his lifetime, most of them Mopars. He was especially fond of cats and rarely lived without one. Dave loved telling stories of the times he spent camping in northern Manitoba and had hoped to return there one day. His photo albums are filled with pictures of him and his friends posing with their catches of fish. David was very proud of his nephews, Jordan, Kevin and Scott and had many animated discussions with brother-in-law Perry around the kitchen table. Unfortunately poor health due to diabetes took its toll on Dave. Right to the end he was still making plans to return to his home in Garson and his beloved cat, but it wasn't meant to be; he went downhill suddenly and was gone from us way too soon. We appreciate the hard work of the dedicated nurses and support staff of the medical ward at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, as well as the Dialysis Unit. Cremation has taken place and as per Dave's wishes, there will be no service. We'll celebrate his life in other ways. Dave, you were the best big brother a little sister could ask for! Now you are free at last. Love you forever. XOX Lori Arrangements entrusted to:

Hi Dave, it's Al & Ann. Sorry for the late response, but just found out. We were sure sad to see you go old buddy. Far too soon. Hope we all meet up again on the other side. Thanks for the Rocking Chair Memories of which there are many. Was talking to your sister just recently and filled her in on some of our fishing stories. Red Lake & White Shell...good times. Sometimes we caught fish and sometimes we didn't catch anything, but always had steak on standby and maybe a few drinks as well. So regardless of the success of our fishing trips, we always had fun. Lots of stories & excuses on why and how the Big Fish always managed to get away. Our kids were also very fond of Dave and treated him like an Uncle. Dave was part of our family & we will never forget him. Bon Voyage Old Buddy. Until we meet again, rest in peace. - Posted by: Al & Ann (Close Friends) on: Jun 05, 2019

Rest in peace David. We played together in the back alley. Must have been early 60's. - Posted by: Brian Mercier (Neighbors) on: Jan 19, 2019

Gee David, you didn't give us much notice you were leaving, so I'm still a little in shock. I wish this was one of the tricks you use to play, but I know it isn't. Boy did you play tricks on me. Tricks that we talked about and laughed about years later. They were doozies. And I never thought I'd see the day where you'd make me cry. But here I am. I love you David, and miss you. XOXO Sandy. - Posted by: Sandy (Family) on: Jan 19, 2019
