Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAMUEL NELSON AUGUSTUS GOODRIDGE On Monday, January 28, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre, Samuel Goodridge passed away at the age of 92 years young. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Matilda, a younger sister Linda Forbin, a younger brother James, and his son Michael Linley. Samuel will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louisann Lorna Coleen, son Patrick, daughters, Julica Maureen, Adenike Alethea M. (Alexander) Victor and Carla Michelle Friedrich, stepsons, Jason and Curtis Hibbert, brothers, Lloyd (Muriel), Carlton (Monica), Roy (Sylvia), Hugh (Audlyn) and Lerry (Clarissa), sisters, Cyrene and Beulah (Knolly) James, sister-in-law Julia Goodridge, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leon (Janice), Llewelyn (Nadine), Listerlee (Gertel), Jacob (Dahlia) Thompson, Luan (Romel) Rochester, Lorraine (Cletus) Williams, Lizzette Turner, Lessanne (Austin) Brown, grandchildren, Keron, Ma-Ling, Madison Victor and Ella Friedrich, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Samuel was born on February 27, 1926, in the village of Plum Road, Manzanilla, Trinidad, West Indies. Before immigrating from Trinidad to Canada in 1977, Samuel was employed at Osmond High School and at St. Anthony's College, and in Canada at the Holiday Haven, and later at the Sharon Home Inc. He loved to study, earning him a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Advanced Certificate in Gerontology from University of Manitoba, Master of Divinity Degree from University of Winnipeg, and a Masters of Sacred Theology. Samuel volunteered and ministered at Milner Ridge Correctional Centre, and the Winnipeg Remand Centre. He was an Elder at the Transcona Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he regularly taught Sabbath School. Sometimes he also preached in two of the Seventh Day Adventist Churches. Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Silver Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2140 Ness Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
