ELLEN ROSE MARY FITZSIMMONS October 4, 1960 - February 3, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Rose Mary "Suzzie" Fitzsimmons. Peacefully, after a long courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 58 years old, Ellen joined the spirit world on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 11:40 p.m., with her mother Caroline by her side. Ellen is survived by her parents, Caroline and Ivan; and her brothers, Rob, Don, Doug and Dallas, along with their families. Ellen was born on October 4, 1960, in Gladstone, MB. Her early years were spent in Amaranth and Snow Lake. She then moved to Winnipeg when she was 18. She worked at Codville Groceries and then Red Cross for the last 20 years. Ellen had the biggest, kindest heart and soul you could imagine, and wouldn't hesitate to help anyone at any time. She also had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. We are comforted in the thought that Ellen is now at peace and probably snuggling up with Sassy and Pepper. Cremation has taken place and a small family gathering is planned for a later date. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Thank you for the invitation to attend Ellen's memorial service. I'm sure Ellen was smiling at all of us as the service was exactly what Ellen would want. I have lost a dearest friend of more than 20 years. I will miss our dinners and the movies and popcorn and trips to Michael's and taking craft/art classes together. So many wonderful memories of a great, kind, compassionate, caring friend. - Posted by: Lynda Gilchuk (Friend) on: Mar 01, 2019

  • We will miss you and your laugh. I loved growing up with you and the fun we had. With all my love, Bill Asham - Posted by: William Asham (Cousin) on: Feb 20, 2019

  • I was a volunteer at Red Cross and worked with Ellen for a number of years up until she left there. Your obituary describes Ellen so well that as I read it, I could actually picture her smiling. She was such a kind and caring person. The world will not be a better place without Ellen. I will miss her. - Posted by: Phyllis Wiscombe (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2019
