OLGA (OLLIE) ANNA BALJKAS September 11, 1933 - February 16, 2019 It is with great sadness we announce Ollie's passing on February 16, 2019 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Her life was filled with laughter, a bright wit, a strong will and way too many pastries and baked goods. Ollie attended the University of Winnipeg, worked for the Canadian Government and taught business writing and cake decorating. In accordance with Ollie's wishes, cremation will take place followed by a private family gathering. In memory of Ollie, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • When I started with the Federal Government back in 1991, during this period I remember quite clearly our dear Ollie. She was a wonderful lady, and so full of life. I especially enjoyed her sharing her delicious recipes with me (Herb Chicken and Shortbread bottom cake). She was a fantastic cook from what I recall. Ollie's niece had been my high school teacher and when we made that connection it was so nice. Over the years after I left the Government department I always wanted to connect with Ollie...and I regret that I didn't. I was just recently searching for her phone number on the Internet and was saddened to read of her passing. I am so sorry for your loss, Ollie was such a nice person, so kind and thoughtful. She will be missed dearly. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Cathy Redekop Holmes (Friend from Federal Gov't) on: Apr 22, 2020

  • I recall Ollie when we worked together at Superstore McPhillips. She was a very friendly cashier and all older folks love to come to her checkout to visit. She was a lovely person and always had a smile. My condolences to Steve and her sons. Cathy K - Posted by: Cathy K (Friend from Superstore days) on: Feb 21, 2019
