WADE ALBERT WEIMER July 4, 1964 - February 16, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wade, devoted husband and loving father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Wade passed away peacefully, at the Health Sciences Centre, with family by his side. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Cindy, sons, Brendan and Derian, parents, Al and Marilyn, sister Leah (Steve) Cockwell, brother Todd (Michelle), niece and nephews, Ben, Carson and Jayda Cockwell and Trevor and Devon Weimer. He also leaves mother-in-law Anne Stokotelny, brothers-in-law, Brian (Ruth) Stokotelny, Ron (Jacinthe) Stokotelny, Greg (Maria) Stokotelny and Kerry (Tanya) Stokotelny, nieces and nephews, Jeff (Michelle), Jenny (Brad) Peterson, Janelle, Sabrina, Christopher, Jacob and Sarah, and great-nieces and nephews, Aaron and Mikaela Stokotelny and Henry Peterson. He will also be missed by extended family in Saskatchewan and many close friends including his "Piper Strong" brothers. Wade completed high school at John Taylor Collegiate and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science. The majority of his career was spent in the pharmaceutical industry and since 2014 he worked for the Seine River School Division as the Transportation Supervisor where he made many wonderful friends. Wade married the love of his life Cindy in October, 1994 and raised two incredible sons, Brendan and Derian, devoting all of their time to the boys' sports, where they made many lasting friendships. Wade was an avid athlete who excelled at all sports, but football was his forte. He loved spending time with family at the cottage in Ontario (his happy place), playing cards, listening to music, and fishing. He also loved watching the Jets and NFL football. Wade will be remembered for his confidence and strength in leadership. He made an impression on everyone he met and had a way of making each person in his life feel special. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to CancerCare staff, in particular Tracy, who provided unwavering support throughout Wade's journey. We are so grateful for the care he received at CancerCare Manitoba. Wade was able to participate in a clinical trial at CancerCare which gave him so many more tomorrows with his family. The family would also like to extend thanks to the Health Sciences Centre staff for their compassionate care during the past eight months. In lieu of flowers, Wade would have encouraged his friends and family to donate to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation to support Clinical Trials. To honour Wade's life and memories a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Boniface Golf Club, 100 Youville Street, Winnipeg, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • I corresponded with Wade when he worked for Division Transport with Seine River School Division. Our conversations were always wonderful - which is an odd thing to say when arranging bussing. He was always supportive, and thoughtful. His sense of caring for the students, events, and whoever he was communicating with, shone through. What a pleasure it was to have known him.
