WILLIAM (BILL) GEORGE RUSSELL
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Rosemarie, daughter Kelly (Spiring), son Blair, grandson Cole (Spiring), sister Joy (Finch), brother-in-law Ray (Finch), sister-in-laws, Kay and Arleen Kraushar, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was born on July 22, 1938, in Winnipeg to Frederick and Anna (Deckert) Russell. He loved his younger sister Joy and they have always been close.
Bill had various employment works throughout his life but his greatest joy and sense of accomplishment came from his many years working for the City of Winnipeg. He retired from Management at the North End Treatment Plant in 1994.
Bill was a dedicated and hardworking man, steadfast to provide for his family.
From a young age, he was a jack-of-all trades, a love and talent which he acquired from his father. His passion for woodworking led Bill to build a beautiful retirement home on the lake at Pinawa Bay near Lac Du Bonnet. He and Rosemarie and our family enjoyed many good times. The memories and long lasting friendships made there are truly cherished.
We remember our Dad as a quiet man with a love for learning, reading books, dropping everything to help others, a good friend, hobbyist and lots of fun during our skiing, camping, fishing, canoeing days gone by.
In his later days, he enjoyed his friends from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, bowling and Lions Manor Board work.
Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the St. Boniface Hospital in E6, IMCU and ISMU.
We will all greatly miss him.
He is a wonderful man.
