PHOEBE ELLA MAE JOHNSTON
(nee KERR)
Predeceased by her husband Garfield and her brothers, Walter and Ken. She is survived by her sons, Lorne (Marilyn) and Larry (Beatrice) and her grandchildren, Jesse (Amanda), Michael (Stephanie), Nicole and Kevin. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen (Bill) and Gail (Doug) and her brother Ivan (Pat) and sister-in-law Dorothy as well as numerous nieces and nephews including two great-grandsons, Sam and William.
Mom was born in Otterburne, Manitoba on July 29, 1929. She moved with her husband Garfield to Winnipeg in 1949 and worked for A & P Grocery Stores and The Hudson Bay Company. In her retirement, Mom spent many hours knitting and crocheting. She made many wonderful gifts for all members of her family.
The family would like to thank the staff of 2 South of the West Park Manor Personal Care Home for caring for Mom during the last three years. Special thanks to her good friend and former neighbour Laverne Dahlin for her wonderful thoughts and care during Mom's life.
Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
