EDWARD ATAMANCHUK
Edward was born on February 6, 1933 in Pine Ridge, Manitoba to Alexander and Sophie (Solinski). On November 16, 1957, he married Lucille Bessette. Together they raised a son, Wayne, and two daughters, Karen and Colleen.
Edward worked at Manitoba Hydro for 33 years. In retirement, he became an avid golfer, enjoying many rounds with family and friends, and played in the Heather Senior Golf Men's League. Camping and fishing were favourite pastimes of Ed's and most summer weekends were happily spent at Big Whiteshell Lake with family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, Robyn, Scott, Kendra, Keegan and Amie, and in the last few years, his great-grandchildren, Cleo, Nolan, Lilith and Malcolm. Their growing personalities always brought a smile to his face. Eddy was known as a kind and generous spirit.
Edward was predeceased by his parents in 1981, his sister Evelyn in 2005, and his brother Donald in 2010. He is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, Lucille, his loving wife of 63 years, three children, Wayne (Gail), Karen and Colleen (Jim), five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his brother Arthur (Jeanette).
No funeral services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials be made in Edward's name to the Concordia Foundation (www.concordiafoundation.ca).
