PEARL DZIEDZIC
December 20, 1934 – July 2, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother / Baba, Pearl Dziedzic (nee Zwarych), on July 2, 2019, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mom will be greatly missed by son Randy (Liz); daughter Cindy (Don); grandchildren, RJ (Cindy), Roy (Kaley), Derek, Cameron; great-grandchildren, Gage, Levi, Nathan, Hailey, Kylie and Alex.
Our Mom was predeceased by our Dad Kasper (2009); her parents, Stephen and Justyna Zwarych; her siblings, Mike, Anne, Mary, Pauline, Peter and Stanley.
Born and raised in Teulon, she grew up helping her parents on the farm, attending Teulon School and caring for her many animals. Mom always had a passion for all animals. Especially loving horses, dogs, cats and goats. On June 4, 1955, Mom married our Dad and moved to the farm at Sandridge, then later to the present farm at Inwood, raising her two children, working alongside Dad on the farm, growing a huge garden, and working other jobs away from the farm. We will always remember the amazing dinners Mom prepared for all the special holidays. Making sure everyone had more than enough to eat and sending you home with leftovers. For many years, Mom was also part of the Polson Hall Committee, working at all events for the church and hall, or anything needed in the community.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 11:00 a.m., at the Komarno Hall in Komarno. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Polson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery (in care of Theresa Capuska, Komarno, MB R0C 1R0) or to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
On behalf of Mom, we would like to thank Dr. Ade, the nurses and staff at The Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli for their care during Mom's time there. A special thank you to Donna for your sincere compassion and kindness. A heartfelt thanks to all the family and friends who visited and called Mom during her stay. As well as a special thanks to Diane; for your many visits, support and help with Mom.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • So sorry to hear of Pearl's passing. We got to know her when she came to visit her sister Mary. Mary and my mother Margaret Graff became good friends in Selkirk home then in Teulon. Pearl always used to call my sister Janice and they would chat for hours. I saw Pearl a few times in Teulon and would call her to see how she was doing. Rest easy Pearl, your work on earth is done. You are in Gods hands now. - Posted by: Dawn Gray (Friend) on: Jul 19, 2019

  • My condolences to the entire family; she thought the world of her kids. My friend Pearl will be missed. I will especially miss our phone chats; keeping each other company. Her animals have lost their best caregiver. Rest in peace my friend 🙏 - Posted by: Anne Senga (Friend) on: Jul 08, 2019

  • Dearest Randy, Cindy & Families, we are so saddened to hear of aunties Pearl (or Minnie Pearl as we often lovingly referred to her as, passing. Auntie Pearl was truly an equal partner who worked lovingly with Uncle Kasper, a doting mother with a tendency to spoil as well as a committed family. She was sure to check in regularly on her widowed sister Mary (our Baba) as she aged and was living alone despite her own farm workload, huge genuine farm pet family while assisting anywhere at anytime with her adult children and all of her grandchildren. I’ll never forget spending one week of summer vacation camping in a tent with Cindy on the farm and feeling just like one of her own. The many special stops at Christmas time that we did with mom and dad. You were sure to enjoy a juicy roast duck stuffed with the best dressing I’ve tasted to this day. It was her love of all aspects of farm life and more so her special love and mothering of all the 8 to 12 dogs at times and the many cats that she would have divide into separate quarters to keep everyone one healthy. Aunts Pearl had some of the tallest, shiny coated beautiful horses I’d ever seen. I always wondered how she could get on them to ride! Her love and appreciation for all of her special pets including her many goats (despite the fact that they were not one of Uncle Kasper favorites) transcended to me turning me into a lover of every animal at both her and her sister Mary’s (our Baba’s) to the extent of naming each of Baba’s milking cows with her. Though we didn’t get to visit auntie Pearl and uncle Kasper as much as we would have liked to, her persona and character played a significant role in my life and love of a summer kitchen, the farm, family, and all of the pet family. Auntie Pearl was the female version of saint Francis, both the keeper and caregiver of all animals who were fortunate to find their way to her. I’m so grateful to have inherited her deep love of children and all and every animals, and to have married a man with the beautiful qualities of uncle Kasper with whom he’d made an immediate connection with and who respected and admired both Auntie Pearl and Uncle Kasper! May Auntie Pearl be greeted by Uncle Kasper along with each and every last pet that she held dear in her heart and cared for over the years! May peace be with them all, along with each of the members of her family left to cherish and honor such beautiful memories. We will forever love you and keep you in our heart and thought Auntie Pearl. - Posted by: Derek & Denise Sydor (nee Dyrda) (Niece & husband) on: Jul 07, 2019

  • Uncle Kasper and Auntie Pearl were very kind to me when my Dad died when I was a little girl. I have never forgotten their thoughtfulness. Auntie Pearl always made me feel at home whenever I visited. I spent a big part of my summer holidays at their home when I was little. She was my last Auntie so I will miss her and our phone conversations. Rest in Peace Auntie. Jenny Harrison (niece) Vancouver Island - Posted by: Jenny Harrison (Niece) on: Jul 06, 2019
