Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Margaret,My sincere sympathies for the loss of your husband Eugene. I only met him once but from what I hear he was a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Leona Theroux (Friend) on: Aug 10, 2019

  • I will always remember Eugene as kind, compassionate and patient man. Eugene and Margaret were in our lives from the very beginning. They visited our family in Haywood mostly on Sundays. Many stories were shared. I remember Eugene keeping my dad company when barn chores were being done. Margaret and maman were indoors sharing more stories. When they visited, it was always fun to see which vehicle he was driving. He had such a passion for cars which continued throughout the years. In the last few years, when visiting and realizing he was getting tired, we noticed Eugene would always greet you and inquire as to how you and your family were doing, and gave a hug or handshake. He was such a great person and truly happy to have known him over the years. - Posted by: Huguette Bohémier (Cousin) on: Aug 09, 2019

  • I can remember the times when I was a kid, when Eugene and Margaret would stop by our house. Always a pleasant experience for us. Margaret was charming and Eugene with his deep, gentle voice would talk about motorcyles and the hard times after the war. Later on, when I grew up, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with them numerous times. We have talked about many things over the years but the one word that comes to my mind when I think of him is ‘gentleman’. I almost think the word was coined for him. - Posted by: Hubert Dubé (Relative) on: Aug 07, 2019

  • Eugene was a kind and considerate man who was always welcoming. His wife, Margaret, who is a cousin and friend of mine, took excellent care of Eugene for 51 years and even more so during his declining years and in the hospital. He will be missed and often remembered for the good person he was. - Posted by: Rachel Birnie (Friend) on: Jul 30, 2019
