ROBERT TUCK
December 24, 1933 - July 26, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Arthur Tuck, with family by his side.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Georgina; his children, Bob (Sherry), Keenan, Cheryl (Lawrence), and Gary (Maria); grandchildren, Amy (Paul), Kirstin, Danielle, Justin, and Angela (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Arianna, Tucker, Ainsley, Victoria, Newry, and Weston; his sister Joan Hupe; brother Wayne; aunt Lorraine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Buster (Robert) and Alice (nee Pion); and sisters, Barbara Ritchot, Carol Tuck, and Patricia Saltel.
Robert was born December 24, 1933 in St. Boniface where he lived until he enlisted in the Armed Forces at the age of 17.
He served in the Korean War between 1951 to 1953. After he returned home, he began a long career in the construction industry. It was also during this time that he became a professional wrestler, first with the Madison Club and later the A.W.A. Along the way, he met the love of his life, Georgina Gaczynski; and in 1956, they were married. In 1958, they started a family; and in 1966, moved to St. Vital where they raised their children and established deep roots in the community.
It was Robert's signature humour and quick wit that made him so endearing to others. He never let an opportunity go by without trying to make others laugh or smile. It was a trait that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Robert was an avid bowler, belonging to many leagues, a longtime member of the Nicolett Curling Club, and in his later years he developed a passion for golf.
Robert was a proud member of the Korean Veteran's Association - Unit #76. He enjoyed visiting other veterans at various hospitals in the city, especially Deer Lodge. He was also instrumental in establishing the Tommy Prince MM Memorial Unit 76 KVA, where he served as Vice President. In 2007, Robert revisited Korea with Georgina; it was an incredibly special time for him.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff on T7 at Deer Lodge Centre. They opened their hearts to care for Robert and appreciated his sense of humour.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private, family interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

You're gone but not forgotten,
all our memories will be cherished,
no words will take away the pain.

  • Jinx, Joan, Wayne and all the extended family. Having grown up with most of you and socializing with many I know how much Bob will be missed. He shared many jokes and stories with Albert. They are probably reconnecting right now. Our deepest sympathies go out to all of you from my family. Beverley Bettens. - Posted by: Beverley Bettens (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2019

  • Dear Cheryl, Michele and I want to express our sincere condolences to you and your family at this time of loss. Our thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Grant Miyai (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2019

  • To all the Tuck family, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Bob. When I joined the Nicolett Curling Club 45 years ago I am sure Bob was already curling at that time. He was a great guy and a lot of fun and in those days when you were on a curling team the chances of playing with one of the Tuck's was about 70%? I consider my self very fortunate to have known Bob and all of his family members and I know he will be missed by all of you, unfortunately I will be out of Province on the 9th so I can't pass on my condolences personally.
