ELAINE CATHERINE KORT
(nee THERA)
August 14, 1946 September 27, 2019
With her family by her side, a tender heart stopped beating and Heaven gained another angel.
She will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 51 years, Ken; her two daughters, Kendra (Curtis) and Kyla (Jeff); and her three precious grandsons, Easton, Callan and Kade; who she absolutely adored.
She is survived by her sisters, Gwen (Bob) and Audrey; brother Jerry (Elsie); numerous nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her father James, mother Dora and brother Jim.
Mom's pride and joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity for a family gathering or get together. We are grateful for the endless love, devotion, guidance and support that she so generously provided us with and are so thankful that her beautiful soul was ours to love.
Elaine was a special lady who touched the lives of many. To know her, was to love her. Often the life of the party, she entertained many people with conversation and humoured them with stories.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre (MICU) for the kind and compassionate care that we received during Mom's last few days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre, 26 Molgat Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

As a social worker, there came a point in my career when I needed to learn some basic bookkeeping. Elaine was ever so helpful. Her advice and guidance was practical, smart, efficient and easy to understand. She was kind, nice and fun. I so enjoyed working with her. Anyone who knew Elaine knew how much she loved her family. My heart goes out to all who loved her. - Posted by: Sandy Lysachok (co-worker at the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities) on: Oct 19, 2019

This news was quite a shock to many of the women who shared in Elaine's circle of friends. While I didn't know Elaine as long as some, she certainly had an effect on me. Her enthusiasm and joy of life were contagious. She truly was the "life of the party". Her generosity and thoughtfulness extended to many. She will be missed but remembered with love and laughter. My deepest sympathy to her family. Bev Martens - Posted by: Bev Martens (Friend) on: Oct 15, 2019

I grew up in Windsor Park and Elaine and Ken were like second parents to me. I spent a lot of times in their home. I am saddened to read this. My heart goes out to you Ken, Kendra and Kyla. Thinking of you. - Posted by: Wanda Kolida (nee Groening) (Grew up with family ) on: Oct 06, 2019

Elaine was one of the most beautiful ladies I was blessed to have in my life. Although we have not seen one another in years, I spoke to her on the phone about 3 months ago, and she was still the funny, kindhearted woman I had always known. My deepest sympathies go out to her Kenny, Kendra (and family), Kyla (and family). Elaine's spirit will forever remain in the love of her family, her handsome grandsons, and friends. Rest peacefully Elaine. You will be greatly missed by so many. - Posted by: LeeAnn Mensies (Family Friend) on: Oct 05, 2019
