He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Samantha (Colin) Smith; grandchildren, Cassandra and Zack; siblings, Rosa, Mary, Frances and Ted.
Predeceased by his father Vincenzo; mother Rita; brother Cosimo (Butch) and sister Susanna.
Born August 1, 1960 Dino grew up in Schreiber, Ontario. He completed his university education at the University of Western Ontario. He moved west and began working for Investor's Group where he met Nancy. They were married in 1984. Dino worked for many years for the provincial government and then for Hewlett-Packard. He retired in 2017 for a year before working on contract with MTS. Dino very much loved his wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow. He was also very proud of his dogs - both in the show ring and also for their companionship.

Dino and I worked together at HP and HPE for a long time and retired within a few months of each other and as co-workers do lost touch. Very sad to see that he didn't get to enjoy retirement for long -- he deserved a lot more time. He was a great business partner, a determined and dogged opponent to bureaucratic stupidity. His sense of humour was boundless. Any time I was really frustrated with employment, co-workers, management... I could count on him for a different and usually hilarious take on the situation. - Posted by: Ken Marchant (Former Colleague) on: Oct 19, 2022

Hi Nancy and Family: I am so sorry to hear about Dino’s passing. Dino and I worked in the Department of Labour in the 1990’s. Dino was a fiercely loyal man who could figure out things ahead of us all which I think was at times frustrating for him. He always gave more than 100% of himself in anything he did. I can still see him with hunched shoulders, dark eyebrows furrowed glasses half way up his nose, looking from side to side then breaking into a wide grin. Dino was a large unforgettable presence who loved his family very much and I am sorry he has left us so early. My heartfelt condolences are sent you - Posted by: Nighean Anderson (Friend and colleague) on: Oct 27, 2019

Dino will truly be missed. He was an awesome friend and a great person to work with. As I draft this, I can remember times Dino and Nancy would open their home to me during the holidays. The Christmas decorations were 1st class and those dogs were just amazing. I can truly say he was a friend, but even more he was someone that had a special place in my development. Never will forget him, or all that he did for my growth while at Hewlett Packard. Sleep well my friend. My condolences to Nancy and the entire Speziale family. Dino was a client of mine and we jointly worked on the Better Systems Initiative at the Province of Manitoba. He was passionate about what BSI meant for the government and that passion fueled everyone's excitement on the results that could be achieved. He was interested in all the project team members personally and professionally - and I really respected his approach. He was never afraid of tackling an issue and was always up for a lively argument. I have not seen him in many years, but have spent the past few days recalling some famous Dino-moments with a smile and saying a prayer for him and the entire family. Rest in Peace Dino. You will be missed. - Posted by: Beth Bell (He was a client) on: Oct 07, 2019

Dino was always extremely loyal to his friends and regardless of the circumstances was always positive and worked hard at finding solid solutions. He was a very caring man and would go out of his way to help others. Although I left Manitoba about 7 years ago, Dino continued to make the effort to stay in touch and whenever he called he always had an encouraging word for me. He was energetic and thoughtful, caring and kind. I will greatly miss Dino as will all of his friends and family. Rest in peace my friend - Posted by: Jon Klassen (Friend) on: Oct 07, 2019

Dino and I worked together for many years - First in the Manitoba Department of Labor followed by "Service First" which was a public service improvement program out of the Premier's office. Working with Dino was never dull. He challenged those around him to think big, to think excellence, to think innovativley. He worked harder than most people - seldom missing a deadline (and never an important one). He was well known for his habit of gathering cold, hard facts and data to use in arguments to stimulate better systems in the public service (he kept all of this in what we called "Dino's briefcase of Death" to those who, to their detriment, chose to argue with him!). When neither of us could tame or change bureaucratic inertia we both moved on. At HP he seemed to find the place that recognized his passion and talents. He deserved a longer retirement for sure. - Posted by: John Cumberford (friend and colleague) on: Oct 06, 2019

I got to know Dino back in the early 80s when he was living with family in EK and we both took the bus in the morning downtown to Investors Group. Dino was a friendly, kind and charasmatic guy. I enjoyed our visits. Sending my sincerest condolences to Nancy and her family at this sad time. Judy Borus - Posted by: Judy Borus (Friend) on: Oct 05, 2019
