ZHEN HAO CHEN

In loving memory of Hao Chen who passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2019, at the age of 90 years.
Hao will be deeply missed and remembered by her children, Kwok Cheung Chan (KamHar Pong), Wand Kwong (Sun Kwong), Guo Yi Chen (Qing Xiu Chen), Guo Lin Chen (Xiao Hong Chen) and Cam Hong Chan; her grandchildren, Corey Kwong, Mandy Chan (Vito Lee), Jerry Kwong (Karen Kwong), Channing Kwong (Hai Le), Jenny Chen (Andy Wu), Ben Chen (Ding Ding Zhang), Jacky Chan (Elaine Tang), Laurie Chan, Kevin Chen, Bryan Chan and Leanne Chen; and her eight great-grandchildren.
Hao was born in Tai Shan, China. She worked as a farmer until she immigrated to Canada in 1985, where she worked in a clothing factory to provide for her family. She never shied away from hard work and would gladly help anyone whom needed it. She worked well into her 60s, retiring only to take care of her grandchildren. Even after retiring, she spent her days working long hours tending to her large homegrown vegetable garden. She also enjoyed Chinese Opera and playing card games.
Hao was many things to many people, but what she will be most remembered for are; a loyal, devoted and obedient daughter, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was a gentle soul with a big generous heart, who always thought of others before herself. She was the very definition of a mother. Constantly checking on everyone in her family, ensuring her children and grandchildren were always fed and safe. She made sure no one stepped out of line with her blunt but loving melodramatic self. She was always so boastful and proud of her family. She was known to be stubborn and particular but always had a lot of love to share with her family; she was the epitome of selfless love. She always strived to give the best first impression and all those that knew her, gave her the utmost respect and grew to love her unique personality.
Memorial service and burial will be held on October 21, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
The family of Hao would like to thank all her friendly neighbours at the Senior Citizen Centre of Sek On Toi. They all provided great company and cared for her deeply.

Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
